For the people against extended coronavirus unemployment aid - if you’re worried about people being able to make more from not working, doesn’t that tell you those earning the least don’t make enough to get by?

No. It tells people supporting this have no inkling of an idea about how economies function or personal incentives

like

I know that economies cease to function when there isnt money to buy stuff, lol

like

No. It tells me people are making the rational choice. Also, who are you to determine what people need to get by?

like

The economy does not care about people get by or not. Sorry fro breaking for the economic illiterate - money does not grow on a tree.

Less people working = less wealth is generated = lower standard of living.

You can print all you want, but that is wealth

This is valid, but the unemployment benefit is a drop in the bucket pf printed money. All the printed cash has gone to big corporations and the ultra wealthy. If you are concerned about that, you are looking at the wrong thing.

My impression is a lot of Fishbowlers have grown up insulated from people in lower socioeconomic classes and believe they “merit” their pay and wealth.

Maybe you do but first tell me how the wealthy haven’t been lobbying the government for special treatment since the US became a country. Tell me there isn’t a revolving door between the government and Wall Street.

Steve Mnuchin was just reported in the NYT to have pulled back oversight on hedge funds. How is his work history not a conflict of interest?

A lot of wealthy individuals should be called out for a different kind of welfare - tax breaks.

We do not operate in a “free market” capitalist economy. We subsidize the wealthy in numerous ways.

The PPP program went to many companies who kept funds until they were publicly reported for receiving them.

If lower and middle class Americans need this aid they should get it. Wall Street, banks and other sectors routinely get bailed out for the sake of the economy meanwhile laying off their workers and making sure their CEO was paid in line with his “peers.”

Are you willing to pay 1.5x more for your goods and services? If so, then yes they’re underpaid. If no, then they’re paid as expected.

Do you see the problem here, OP?

Hello fellow SAP Consultants!
I am SAP HCM consultant having 4.10 years of experience. I feel that this module doesn’t have any growth. My first switch took me to 9LPA from 6LPA and now the second switch is being offered for 11.5LPA where I can see my fellow friends in SAP having more than 15LPA at the same experience on their second switch itself. Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.

I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team. I felt like I was lowballed during my offer, and my negotiation salary was denied since this is technically my first “professional” job. Pt 2 in comments:

Negotiation in new offer: I’m moving from fully remote to fully in office (with chance of hybrid later) offer for associate director in quality in pharma for 170k base, 18% bonus and 75k equity. I’ve asked for a sign on bonus as I’m not eligible for annual next year and will be missing my current jobs bonus. I should hear tomorrow (asking for 28k). Thoughts about the offer? Should I ask for more equity or is that standard? They’re public (currently ~$20)should I get the hybrid option in writing?

It’s hard for me to believe that the party of conservatives, which has historically stood proudly for important traditions, is now responsible for holding convention activities at the White House and having a Secretary of State engage in political activities while on official business in a foreign land. The window of opportunity to course correct, assuming it is still open, is closing quickly. Biden is closer to the Republican Party I grew up with than Trump is...

Ossoffs response? Bring up all the ridiculousness Perdue has done and how he’s left Georgia in a worse position. Didn’t say Ossoffs name once, just said get rid of Perdue.
