Why is it that the same jobs are listed by 5 different recruiters on LinkedIn, but no one will actually tell me who the client is? Do recruiters compete over the same job? I’m starting to feel like I’m in some weird accounting version of The Bachelor.

The issue I have is not knowing who I’ll be working for. I don’t feel like it’s a great look to have a bunch of different people trying to get me the same job, or maybe it is? Maybe this is how I finally get to a different place? 😂 I don’t know, recruiters can be great, but some are out for blood.

Recruiters often operate in strange ways, and the free for all with open positions and clients is just part of it. I wish a good business writer would write a deeply reported book on the recruiting industry. It would be fascinating and would probably answer a lot of questions.
