I wouldn’t be that surprised if it happened to me but it would still hit me hard and I’d have to cry a bit. Then I’d just continue on in my job search. I’ve been laid off before and had no warning, so I took it personally. I was depressed for a long time and now have PTSD over it. I get serious anxiety if I get a hint layoffs are happening.
Pro
Going through a layoff without warning can leave lasting marks, it’s really brave of you to keep moving forward with job searches even while carrying that anxiety.
Hard to say if I were actually faced with that, but I’d guess I’d be devastated at first. Then relief. I’ve been struggling a lot for a few months now at work. Doesn’t mean out of a job would be better, but I could see the silver lining at least.
Pro
Seeing the silver lining is seeing the best in situations and also turning one's lemon into lemonade. In all I admire how you are able to see both sides of it.
I'm not going to lie, I have been laid off before and it is not a good feeling. If I were laid off, I think I would just sit in my car and cry. I am a single income household and I truly don't know what I would do. I know I would figure it out but I would need a minute to gather myself.
Pro
I know for sure that I'd also cry because I am an emotional person. Being a single income household and thinking of the bills to pay is definitely overwhelming.
All of the above!
It is mix of all of the above
Pro
I'd understand why you'd have all of that mix of emotions. The thoughts of paying bills alone is enough.
