Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

Depends on the scenario including compensation, current position (e.g is it a move up, lateral move, are you un-employed, etc), and how good the role would look on the resume.
If it's a publicly traded company, the reality is that lay offs can be just standard fare. To put in very simple terms: this because the corporation is trying to move around headcount and budget numbers to hit earnings statements the right way. They can be laying off roles in one area, and hiring in another. And you have to look past the headlines for the reasons layoffs happened. Much the "reducing headcount because of AI" can, in fact, be just another reduction in spend cycle wrapped in marketing veneer.

Simple, do you need a job or not? If you're already working it may not be worth the risk, otherwise you should definitely take it. If nothing else it buys you time to continue looking for something more stable.

I wouldn’t be opposed to it, at least it would feel like layoffs are not coming because they’re completed.
Severance packages can be pretty good, so it all depends. Also, layoffs are a lot easier to explain to potential new employers than getting fired. Do your research for sure, find out what's going on in that company beforehand.
How often does the company do this? Does the company money every year, or is their history questionable? Do they do mass layoffs because of downsizing or restructure, but create jobs in other areas of the company or even geographically? Also, do any of their former employees return?
