Yes so long as you can still exercise maternity leave. Make sure you know if there is a waiting period. Some firms require you be there one year before you can have paid leave
Helllllllllllz to the yeah
Negotiate for maternity leave
Congratulations!
Only if I'm able to negotiate some sort of maternity leave into my compensation and if I'm desperate.
Rising Star
I got pregnant in my first 90 days at 1 firm and found out between accepting an offer and starting the next job that I was pregnant again.
I live in CA so in both instances I received state benefits. If you are in NY or CA I would do it as they are the "most generous" states with parental leave benefits. However, I also know attorneys have different opportunities than staff so if you are in a position to negotiate leave as part of your offer I would.
I switched jobs at 6 months pregnant. It wasn’t fun but it was do-able.
Just did this. No regrets so far
You can but also might be looking at maternity leave policies at the company and family leave policies in your state to make sure you can work for less than a year and still use the leave. Most places/states require a year of employment for eligibility and so does FMLA for job protected leave.
