Would you lateral from an AM100 to a AM50 as a senior associate while also trying to get pregnant? Is there any hope that partnership is possible?

I’m a pregnant senior associate thinking about lateraling (to a lower ranked firm) for better opportunities/partnership prospects because I feel like I have no future at my current firm and get crappy work. Obviously there are a lot of reasons to stay put until after my mat leave, but feeling like I’m in a dead end job is taking a real mental toll. Just validating that it’s so hard to know what the right decision is.

It depends. Why would you want to lateral? More money? Better team? Clients? Do you know anyone at the new firm? Also, starting over and trying to get pregnant is alot. You have to prove yourself again and you don't want to be working long long hours and trying to get pregnant.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working as a contract TAS for 6 months in a medical device company. I started part time and as it became busier/my trainer quit, I became full-time. I applied for the TA position through corporate and would like some insight. the company is short staffed and my site specifically does not have good TA retention. For the salary expectation, I put in 85k which is in the range. I’m currently at 64k which is below the minimum of the range. Is this realistic?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

It's been just 2 months that I am working as a Manager in my company. But I'm really confused.
I was working vey hard and dedicated for past two years. But instead of giving a good raise, thay gave me a Position. I do really love this position and my work. But because of the poor salary, I don't know how much longer I'll be working here.

Career advice that I give to the people I manage- do one more thing everyday that you weren’t going to do or didn’t feel like doing- for your team or for your client. Could be notes, a follow up, a reminder, raising your hand to tackle and drive something-whatever. That little extra effort against something you didn’t “have” to do, every day, overtime will make you invaluable
