Would you rather join a company with a brilliant manager but average product, or a brilliant product with a questionable manager..? Both feel risky in different ways. Which one usually matters more in the long run?

Brilliant manager

I am with you. A brilliant manager shapes how you sell, how you think, and how long you last. Products change, markets shift, but good leadership builds skills you carry everywhere.

I would much rather work on an average product with a brilliant manager. A poor manager can make even the best product environment difficult, so I would choose a great manager every single time.

@am1
I get this perspective, but I do not fully agree. Managers might move on, but the damage from a bad one can linger. Being a top performer is harder when support, clarity, and trust are missing.

Is it unreasonable to request superiors to be mindful of their language? For example, I was on a call where someone meant to say “organized” but instead said their team member suffered from mental illness (OCD). Since this mental illness is invisible, it felt risky to say it not knowing who on the call might be affected. Thoughts?

Hi LTI Fishes, I am new to this variable included pay structure. From my first company to current I am getting fixed pay only. So, I know how to calculate my in-hand salary with that. I can see here 10% is variable pay. I have some questions,

1. How much will be in-hand salary?

2. Is there any hidden component which may deduct from my salary?

3. How variable pay will be paid? monthly or quarterly or annually?

4. How much variable pay we will get by Average?
