I’m an accounting advisory M2 in Los Angeles and hoping to find a position around $150k in industry. However a recruiter said that’s too high and I should be looking more around $130-140k, I can’t tell though if she’s being honest or just hoping I’ll take a smaller salary so that she can get an easier commission. Currently I have offers from 2 companies (say A and B), A is paying more but I want to join B (B is paying less but better brand). Planning to ask B to match salary that A offers. Have 2 doubts:
1) Does companies actually verifies the pay that the competition is offering? (Dont want to ruin my offer with A if B doesn't match the salary)
