Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

Recently heard a friend’s employer backed out of h1b sponsorship last minute (they previously promised her to sponsor h1b), and now she has to leave the US. Did you all have your employers promise to sponsor H1b in writing? How to avoid a situation like this?

How do people focus in the office? I'm a first year and I've been mostly wfh since I started and I'm super productive at home - my setup is comfortable, I rarely get interrupted, and I feel like I can stay really focused in my home office.

Our SAs started today, so the firm is making us come in more often. My office set up is so awkward, screens are too small, and I'm constantly getting interrupted. Not to mention the extra time it took to get ready and commute. How do people do this?

I’m a rising sophomore studying finance at Indiana University. Im currently applying for investment management internships for the 2023 summer but I haven’t fully decided what path of investment management I want to pursue. My two interests are either Equity Research or Sales and Trading. What can you do if you’re getting interviewed by the same person who didn’t choose you in the first place?
Context: I applied for a position a while back and got interviewed, but didn’t go to the next round. I found the same position open again a month later at a different location and applied. Almost immediately, I was called for an interview, but with the same interviewer. What does this mean? Is this going to get awkward?
