A colleague who was originally told they were being made redundant in Consulting when it was announced a few a weeks ago has said that it’s turned out they made a mistake in the scoring and now they’ve reversed on redundancy for them and for others as well… anyone got any more information on this? They’re cutting 150 roles so if some people at risk are coming out of that pool, will new people who originally told they were safe now be at risk ?

Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code.

I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”.
Just wondering:
1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

I joined as an SC and wondering if my base salary will be adjusted annually by a fixed % for inflation or a variable % based on performance? Received the offer from EY for M role, on call and email on Wednesday and also received a mail from the partner about it. Told them I will be accepting the offer. Had another offer & already received their contract , now I don't want to say no to the other firm before I sign the contract with EY. Which I am being told will only be ready next week.
