Piling on what SAD said, as someone who speaks Spanish, it really wasn’t required for most of the show. The superbowl half time show isn’t radio, it’s video. A visual medium. The majority of the messages were portrayed visually. If someone didn’t catch the OG PR flag, the power lines, the sugar cane fields and the historical and political context, that isn’t a language issue. Bad bunny’s show was a prime example of show don’t tell.
One of the few songs where the lyrics were key to getting the message was Ricky Martin’s take on “Lo que paso a Hawaii”. Which the lyrics are also very elementary level Spanish. The shows visuals were more than enough to break language barriers. Anyone who are complaining about “not getting it” because of the Spanish lyrics weren’t really looking with their eyeballs.
Tell that to finance
probably cost than that shitty ritz spot.
