There probably is a lot of ageism in the industry, but it's one of those things that's virtually impossible to prove. Companies can pass on hiring people and never say it was because they were too old, even though everyone assumes that was the problem. Some people avoid the age issue when writing their resume, but of course it becomes apparent at some point. All you can do is apply and hope for the best, I'm afraid.
I don't deny that ageism exists, but it's a small part of the issue right now. There are a lot of people looking for jobs and very few open jobs to go around. I know a lot of young people who are really struggling to find work as well, especially if they are entry level.
Approaching my 40s and feeling this personally. It is something I believe exists, but I also can’t let it hold me back. I just bring my best self to interviews and then hope for the best.

Can’t deny that ageism is definitely a thing. However, are you looking for a specific kind of job that or can you look for jobs with more experience and seniority!
As I have been interviewing there are 3 employers who have outright stated "we love that you're young we love hiring young people". I did end up accepting one of those jobs and learned very quickly that if they tell you they discriminate- believe them
