I have 6 yrs of HR exp, a PHR cert & an HRIP cert. I recently left my role as an HR Rep at a tech co b/c I was working 60+/week and the stress of the job was affecting my health. I recently received an offer at a new tech co that is $10k less than what I was previously making with comments from current EEs that this new co has a better WLB. Total comp is still a lot less than my prev company. Is less comp too much of a compromise for better WLB? What have you compromised for a better WLB?

What do you guys think about the Public Sector?
do you follow your coworkers on instagram?
Offer 1- accounting/ Ops focused, solely focused on revenue/AR/unearned (repetitive and boring), could lead to an operational role but generally outcast as accountant
Offer 2 - internal audit, enterprise wide and cross functional exposure, testing will be financial and system based so bit of variety, have seen people exit to D/VP fin roles due to the exposure
Internal audit is where people go to die just FYI
Offer 2 seems boring, I’d pick 1
They both sound boring
I used to have the exact job as offer #1. It was interesting but still repetitive. Not a bad gig though. The nature of the company kept it interesting.
#2 has serious potential depending on the company. If #2 is a company that has a formal pipeline to the business and treats it as a development program for future leadership then I'd seriously consider taking #2 over #1.
However, if #2 doesn't have formal internal exit ops then I'd drop #2. Many IA groups try to get their new hires up and out within 2-3 years to go work with a team in the business.
Do you need to leave for only these offers ?
