I have never done it but I was given amazing advice from someone who has been promoted in PDM. You have to start the conversation early in the performance year or even at the end of the previous performance year. You need to let your project leadership know what you want. They have to have or create a senior role for you in the budget. No promotions happen in PDM unless there's budget. There also has to be a reason for the senior role they create for you. This isn't core where people shift around from project to project. In PDM we can't have multiple people at the same senior level on the same project long term. So there needs to be a business case for your new role. I hope this helps and good luck!
Thank You!!
