Hello Fishes,
I left capegemini on 4th of Feb and I still haven't got my relieving letter as well as experience letter. I'm trying to access my capegemini portal from webvpn.capgemini.com but I'm not able to access that either. Please suggest me what should be done, my next employer is asking for relieving letter.

Sometimes BD is also synonymous with sales
I exited to a Corporate Strategy role where we have a parallel Corp Dev team, both answering to the CSO. Basic distinction where I am is Corp Strat focuses on organic growth (working with sales leadership, segmenting markets, etc etc etc) while corp dev is responsible for inorganic growth (m&a due diligence). You have to be a pretty mature & acquisitive company to need separate teams for this though, I could easily see an org where one team does both.
That makes sense. This is a mature organization that has a corporate strategy team, a corporate development team, and the BUs have a Strategy & BD function. So the inside scoop I received was, you’d be working on “strategic fit” and doing some modeling to determine this, but once it had legs, Corp Dev. would be more in the details on the valuation and deal side.
Depends. I’ve seen biz dev to include more M&A over Corp Strat. Others can probably shed more (better) light
From my perspective Corp Strategy is more overall company focused, and part of this includes evaluating M&A opportunities; on the other hand Strategy & Biz Dev is more likely to be focused on sales, or product partnerships with other companies that help activate sales, but not necessarily pursuing M&A opportunities.
Agreed. Latter is more Corp Dev
