Technology, however, has made religious ritual feel so lifeless, and I can barely muster the energies to maintain even a bare Jewish lifestyle. My fiancé just made Aliyah for med school. Long distance is hard but I love my job/firm culture. I wish I could stay, but I’ll need to switch to a firm that allows working abroad in a year at the latest. In a year, we get married and I make Aliyah too. I’m afraid to tell anyone at my firm.
