I didn't get my first job until I was licensed. It happens
Apply for jobs anyways. You may get an interview or you may not. No harm in trying. Definitely reach out to your school’s career center.
I was basically a glorified clerk before getting bar results back but it was better than not working at all.
I waited until I'd taken the bar. I sent my resume out right after labor day when partners would be back from vacation. I interviewed in the fall and got hired right before my results came out.
Look for “post bar law clerk” openings. I was hired last august as a post bar law clerk & offered an attorney spot in November after I passed the bar. Check out postings on your law school’s career services website/LinkedIn (I found my position on LinkedIn)
Places are def hiring still! Keep applying. It’s a weird time and it’s a risk for places to hire you but I got an offer like 2 months ago on defense and an offer for plaintiff last week. I take UBE next month.
Or… just wait until after taking the bar. I can confirm that negotiations while bar prepping is awful and having mid day interviews threw off my entire day of studying. Most jobs are contingent and if you don’t pass you will be SOL and have to redo the exam and finding a job anyways
No matter what, you will find a position. It’s not the end of the world to not have one before taking the bar.
