I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?

Which is going to most likely hurt my career more in the long run... a job in pharma or a job in-house on the client side?

Hi community! I finally managed to connect with Google Sourcer on LinkedIn who’s willing to spend time tmw and speak about open roles. I have 8 years of consumer sales exp + recent 2.5 years of Digital Pharma Marketing exp (agency) + MBA I just earned.
My Q: is it realistic for me to transition my career to in an Acct Manager or MM role with Google? I’d like to further grow my Marketing experience but not sure if my YOE is too low for their threshold (if any!) Lastly, any tips for the call tmw?

So... I have questions for change/org effectiveness practitioners who have successfully leveraged their experiences to acquire high paying, high level roles in industry. How did you do it? What was your path? What would you recommend to others so they can make the most of their careers? I’ve included my reasoning for this Q, below!

Trying to find recruiting firms to help me find my next project / program management role. I'm struggling to determine which firms can help with PM roles AND I'm struggling to get the ones I do find to respond to me.

It may have something to do where I'm at in my career - 15+ years of PM experience & director-level roles at my last 2 companies - so more exec level but not quite C-Suite. Have one-off recruiters hitting me up on LinkedIn about contract PM roles but that's not what I want.

Now i have been interviewed and selected for Ameriprise where I would learn on the job and work on workday finance.
No WD certification.
Will it be a good choice in the long run?
Also, how hard is it to learn workday without proper formal training/certification ?

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. Aside from the cost of it, I like my program, and the fact that I’m now connected to an incredible alumni network. And not gonna lie, I like the clout. Thoughts?

I recently interviewed with Natwest and I got confirmation that they wanted to offer a role. Salary negotiations were started. However, now I got an email from the hiring manager that hiring for my role has been paused due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. He expects to resume the hiring for the role in Q1 '23 and would resume the process then. So is it the end? Honestly, I don't expect him to come back. But what do you think?
