Hey, Fishies! We’re launching our first Interview/Q+A series "Portfolio Rewind: Would You Hire You?"
Like a portfolio review in reverse, creative leaders will share work they created when they first started out and critique it as if were a book that had just landed in their inbox. Then, tell us if they’d hire their younger selves knowing, and expecting, what they do now.
Drop in for get the chance to ask questions, and get your book reviewed by our guest. Hope you can make it!

Alive After Five is a quantum state.
It is both networking (junior sales people desperately trying to meet numbers & recruiters trying to convince you to leave a stable W2 to take the shortest worst contract role imaginable) and dating (see junior sales people trying to get laid and the recruiter open to it on the 3rd drink / after 7pm).
Be clear in your purpose. For networking, arrive early, move through connections quickly, leave before 6pm. For anything else, arrive after 6pm, and good luck.
I was recommended “PitchBreakfast” which is a practice/feedback session for founders about to pitch to private investors (e.g. a less “dramatic” Shark Tank). There’s coffee before and after and the range of backgrounds is pretty good. It’s monthly - just google it - no charge to attend.
If you’re into international/global affairs, join the young professionals of world affairs council of Charlotte! They’ve got some cool events happening throughout the year. I’ve joined some of their cultural dinners and drink about it series where they discuss certain topics with a group of panel experts (they give out free drink tix!)
What’s your position and gender? I’m in a Woman in Finance & Accounting Leadership organization and our events hosted are pretty fun events
