The shampoo/conditioner you use makes a difference in the how fast you lose it. Use the Yuka app to find products that don’t have toxins in them. You’d be surprised what we put in our hair. It’s made a big difference for me at least in thickness/volume.
The Yuka app is game changer. Found out my face wash, shampoo, and conditioner were all pretty toxic so I switched all three of them and my hair feels so much better already and it’s been a week
Minoxidil and derma roller, takes about 6 months to kick in but works well for pretty low effort
I started losing a lot of hair at 21 and have been taking Finasteride every day since. I stopped losing hair like 6 months later.
Do you feel it's taste in your mouth after you spray it on your scalp?
Have you considered quitting consulting
It’s not always indicative of that, in the case that you’ve always had the M shape
Most men’s hairlines naturally recede around your age, not necessary indicative of hair loss. Check out John Hamm’s (Don Draper) hairline https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Sportscoat-in-light-blue-in-Rome-599x900.webp
I started loosing my hair at 15 and tried a bunch of different medications and tricks. The best advice I can give is to just shave it. It was tough at first but it made me so much happier in the long run.
I second this but only if your hair loss is negatively impacting your life and medications aren’t working.
Finasteride for stopping hair loss and retaining hair/gained hair from other meds and efforts.
Dutasteride if no sides from fin but fin isn't effective enough
Minoxidil for promotion of regrowth.
Both meds have topical and oral options. Oral is generally more effective. You can switch to topical if you're getting side effects from orals. Would recommend reducing dosage of orals first before bailing on them
Great answer^. Only caveat i would say is starting finasteride/dutasteride before minoxidil due to how they work. Minoxidil only grows more hair, it does nothing to prevent further loss/miniaturization of the hair you still have which is the most important part. Plus minoxidil is a topical so if you start you are damning yourself to an annoying topical treatment for as long as you wanna keep that hair you grow with minoxidil.
My dad went bald in his 20s, and I noticed my hairline receding at 15. I just shaved it in my 20s and haven’t looked back
brutal
I’m 23 and started taking minoxidil a year ago because I saw it thinning in the front and crown. So far the Sam’s Club minoxidil has worked really well!
I was advised to also take finasteride but it carries the potential for a crazy form of prostate cancer. Since I’m so young, I figured that taking finasteride long-term would likely lead to that and baldness is better.
My dermatologist told me that it was a cancer that is challenging to control and sometimes operate on, but he hadn’t known any patients to develop it yet. Here’s what I found on the gov’s website
I’m 23. Reversing hairline, bald patch in the middle of hair. Gray hair in goatee. What do I do?
24M and I got a hair transplant last year
Also using topical Minox/fin
26M and going pretty bald. Will likely go to Turkey at some point to get hair surgery but don’t really care for now, prob won’t take Fin / Monodox
SC1, yeah no worries u prob will research more as the time comes closer. I will say though, as someone who has done way too much research into this and more than i wanna admit, minoxidil itself almost certainly wont be enough by itself long term for you to hold onto your hair, especially after a hair transplant. It only works in 60% of people to begin with, and those it does work in it isn’t nearly as effective as finasteride in the short term, and definitely not in the long term. Highly recommend reconsidering fin. And if you are losing hair already, the quicker you start the much better off you will be. Its way easier to hold onto your hair with fin then trying to regrow it later. U will thank yourselves in the end. Ik i did. Id be bald at 24 rn without fin. Instead i now have better hair than i did at the end of high school.
Im 39 and im here to tell you to embrace your natural scalp. Shave your head.
I would start with minoxidil first bc of the potential side effects of finasteride. Can always add finasteride if needed. While Biotin won’t prevent your hair from receding, supplementation has helped with my general hair/nail health and thickness.
Does biotin improve growth and volume or just overall health of hair?
It’s your diet. Hormones are all messed up. I’d suggest going on a similar diet to Tom Brady. It’s not going to be easy following this diet, but if you do, I promise you your hair will be back. my friend started losing hair at 24 started the diet and within 3-4 months he was back to normal. Check it out man
Lol my hormones are pretty regulated and I eat pretty clean (nothing to the extent of Tom Brady) but pretty clean
I have had an unfortunate hairline my whole life and started taking finasteride in college. I have not lost any hair since and am very pleased with the results.
Topical minoxidil and then instead of finasteride, take dutasteride. It is a more effective DHT blocked and can be easily prescribed by a doctor
The only things that actually work are finasteride, dutasteride, or minoxidil, with finasteride or dutasteride being a non negotiable if you truly care about keeping your hair long term (dont need both, just one or other). Everything else is basically a scam or doesnt do really anything at all. Start with finasteride first before minoxidil, only add minoxidil after a year or 2 if you really need it. Go see a dermatologist
Use „the ordinary multi- peptide serum for hair density“ - it works!!!
