U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Discussions

Department of Veteran Affairs has several social work jobs posted that “allows telehealth” but isn’t remote. Does anyone know what exactly this means? I’ve speculated but am not sure.

Crossposting here and in biglaw. Our FY ended Sept 30 so we're in bonus/annual raise time. I originated about $80k of work, all collected. I get 100% "origination credit" but that doesn't count for anything unless you're a partner. As an associate, what's a fair ask for a share of my originations? 20%? 10%? Be happy I have a job still?

My company did away with the mask mandate months ago, but my manager is adamant that everyone on our team continue wearing them when we're in the office (which is 3+ days a week for most of us). I love my job and my team, and I generally like my boss, but I can't stand having to be masked up. Is there anything I can do or am I at the mercy of her random rules?

Stop talking about how busy and frantic you are with work on a holiday week. It’s not a badge of honor, and I’m not impressed. There are only two reasons why you’re busy:
1. You suck at planning.
2. You don’t know how to set boundaries.
3. You don’t care enough about your direct reports to set boundaries so that they can relax this week.

Sales people- what’s the longest you’ve been able to push out the start date of a new position you’ve been offered and how’d you do it? Curious since there tends to be a ton of urgency getting a new sales hire started. Especially helpful if you’re in tech sales but interested in hearing everyone’s experience.

I have an offer from KPMG, and I am in talks with collabera, they are offering about 35% hike which will be 100% hike from my current ctc, while KPMG offers 65% on my current ctc.

KPMG is a research and stakeholders management role and collabera offers strategy role including working direct with VP.

Hanging out with my friends in PE makes me realize how insignificant my comp is. Previously when they were bankers it was “comparable” (the work life balance tradeoff seems worth it) but now they are raking in dough. I’m starting out at ZS Associates and I’m very excited because I’m passionate about the Life Science space. I’ve heard about the good WLB and the pay is great. But I’m nervous because I’m not too crazy about the data/analytics space. Did I chose the wrong firm? Should I have gone to LEK, Putnam, or clearview?
