Nice fat dovetails.

I’ve been working on a toy chest for my daughter. Unfortunately she wants it painted and it’s been too cold to spray it (a heated shop is looking really good right now). I’m using milk paint so it will be a couple of days once the weather warms. I’ll post some pictures when I get it done.

I had final round interviews last week for the company I really want to work for. I have an offer from another company, which I communicated to the recruiter which expedited the interview to final rounds. I need to respond to the other company's offer letter soon. Should I follow up with the hiring recruiter for the company I want an offer from? Or just move on if I haven't heard back by end of this week?

Any recent projects?

I’m making an outfeed table / workbench. I have three design ideas for the frame right under the top. Which ones do you think is best? I want it to stay flat and have some easy clamping on the edge. I have numbers next to each one.

Been busy making my garage into an actual shop. Put in 14 outlets on two circuits and added French cleats to two walls. Not done yet but a million times better than it was.

Not that I’ve worn ties much in the last year, but I made this to get a bit more organized. The pegs are actually bolts for door hinges that I cut down. $1.25 for a 4 pack kept this whole thing under $10

Not quite woodworking (yet), but I’ll end up building the speaker cabinet for this thing shortly.

PSA: Jet and Powermatic are having supply chain issues. Ordered a jet dust collector in March with an April delivery date. Woodcraft has pushed it back every month and their current best estimate is July 7th (though they are still advertising a June ship date). Just keep that in mind if you have any sense of immediacy around your purchasing needs.

So I’m space constrained right now & there aren’t any maker spaces around me so I’m going a little crazy not being able to work on any projects. Humor me and show me what you are working on!

Sat down tonight and forced myself to learn Sketchup in order to design some cabinets for a bathroom remodel.... it’s literally a game changer. It will even orient your grain pattern and spit out an optimized plywood cut diagram. Really cool.

I’m looking for recommendations for a bench top bandsaw. I’m willing to invest in a nicer one down the line, but right now I want to keep it under $300. I mostly see Powertec, Shop Fox, or Wen. There is a $375 Grizzly I’d consider if it’s way better than the others. Any thoughts?

Well guys and gals: I did it. I found a way to merge consulting and woodworking. I present to you a walnut shoe rack full of Allen Edmonds shoes. Still need to put some finish on it and complete a second identical one for the closet. Addl. pics below
