PDM layoffs always happen , if there is no redeployment after the completion of the ongoing project . There is no bench time and people are let go.The model SOP is set to function that way , so truly there’s no point in discussing layoffs in PDM . If you are staffed and billable you are good.In any unforeseen event that the project is impacted and no billable work , the job is at risk.
Try Accenture - unrestricted hiring in capital projects
Not all PDM folks are let go if project/role ends and no redeployment is available right after end date. I personally know PDM folks who have been on bench for 2-3 months as well.
You might be right D1. I do not know all categories within PDM, I mentioned because two PDM folks were rolled of from my project and I stayed in touch with them and one got project after one month and other got after 7/8 weeks, in two different separate accounts. Also, I had one PDM female colleague in my previous project , she was hired on bench in 2022 and got her first project after around 3 months.
