No because I don’t frame it that way, especially if other partners have signed off. Lawyers are particular, and I tell myself they’re just aligning the doc with their view of what it should be but that doesn’t make what I’ve done *wrong*. I know it can feel frustrating, but I’m sure you’re doing great.
Nah some are wrong
Yes but when it’s more stylistic or preference edits, versus something was actually wrong with it, I have learned to let that go. People all think differently and I can take a pen to even a scotus decision and make improvements that more align with my brain. I learned this when the same partner who constantly edited my briefs started to give me her own final drafts for feedback, which helped me realize 1) she values my take and 2) there was stuff in hers that i saw and she didnt, and she would take my advice. Sometimes if you’re in too deep with a project too you can’t look with fresh eyes.
Okay didn’t see A1 before I hit post but yes!
Yep and always expect you to have read their minds and what’s okay on Thursday is magically not ok today, and they want these series of inconsequential changes made as soon as they’ve reviewed it. Working with some of these partners (and their near constant fire drills even nights and weekends for things that aren’t urgent or important) has led to intense burnout and feeling worthless constantly and nightmares.
Omg yes! So many ipad or handwritten scribbles which should go to a para or admin
Pro
Yes but only to the few partners who don’t stop at redlines or comments but provide their feedback in the most condescending and rude way possible.
