This is how you end up in AA. Transition to a meditation breathing technique or something.

Want to second meditation / breathing exercises. I do them for 10 mins before big calls / interviews. Definitely helps calm my nerves and I have pretty bad anxiety

I’d avoid the drinks and do a simpler thing: whatever you think you might need to refer to, an agenda, questions, bullet points, etc - keep them on one side of the screen for easy viewing.

If you know what you want to talk about and in what order, then you’re already more prepared than 70%* of people on calls and you should feel more comfortable operating within a framework

(* conservative estimate 😂)

No I just get chills and the sudden urge to pee

like

Is your pee clear or hello?

i drink shots 😏. jk... unless?

like

That would personally give me more anxiety — like to be completely clear headed for big calls, even if nervous

The best way to handle it is to use the adrenaline as constructive energy to heighten awareness and performance. Admittedly, this takes a long time, but when you get there it is life changing and can be applied to big calls, talking to that hottie at the bar, and any negotiation in general. I believe Michael Jordan described this as "the zone"

No underestimating the power of a cocktail before a meeting! Just one though. It will get you through. Then a Xanax later. Ah...the life!
