I am trying to land a role as a human resources business partner and I'm wondering which certification would be the best for me going forward. Phr? Shrm? Thoughts? Thanks!

I am SHRM certified. I believe both organizations professional development trainings allow you to grow your HR intelligence. HRCI & SHRM Webcast provide excellent trend based training & SHRM membership allows you access to compliance toolkits & articles.

like

Either is acceptable. You could look into the actual HRBP certification there are many out there. AIHR's is the lowest price.

like

I didn't know that was a thing, thanks!

I'd go with SHRM. This one will really help you especially if you want to pursue leadership. This is also good for HR business partners since it is knowledge-based.

I think SHRM tends to be pretty valuable, it's the one I'm looking into at the moment

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?

Something that I didn't fully realise until recently is that almost everyone, regardless of industry, role or location, are showing signs of burning out. The 'new norm' is dealing with mental health issues, feeling tired, unmotivated or fed up. This helped me cope with it... I'm not alone, it's not just me... Sadly, very few team/project leads know or are willing to use empathy.

Hi fishes, what resources would you recommend to improve my uipath knowledge apart from uipath learning academy? I have one year of experience. What other technology integrations do you normally use with uipath in day to day processes leaving excel, pdf, smartsheet and mail activities. I would really like to become an expert in this field.

I obtained this interview through a referral but have been working with a great recruiter that has sent me great positions and I have really enjoyed worked with. Am I overstepping if I reach out to the recruiter for some advice and questions? Also, assuming I get the position, I would still like to send the recruiter a thank you gift for her hard work even though it didn’t lead to a position. What amount for the gift?

Hi all, How do you deal with having a good relationship with an ex-colleague, and then that person switches jobs, becomes a hiring manager, is hiring for a position you’re perfect for (experience + credentials) and then you reach out to them saying you’re interested and why it would be a good idea - and then they completely ghost you..I also sent an application via the website and got rejected. I am really always trying to help out old coworkwrs with getting jobs, but this is just frustrating 🥲

What is it like to lateral out of big law, to a regional firm (~200 attys)? Pay is market, slightly lower billable target. I expect the work to be sophisticated but don’t know yet. WLB is supposed to be pretty good and heard that the firm doesn’t fire people. I think the partnership may be hard to make, and growth could be limited given the size of the firm/even smaller size of the practice group (5 people!). If anyone’s made a similar transition, what are some pros and cons and hindsights?

Hi all, I am looking for a Salesforce Testing role. Having an experience of 7.5 yrs. Working in Deloitte. Can anyone refer me

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.

I find the recruitment aspect to be pretty enjoyable and stress free, but the Employee Relations aspect does often give me a lot of anxiety (I’m a very anxious person to begin with). Recently, it’s been worse because I have several ER cases currently that seem like they could be potentially turning into lawsuits. Do others in ER experience these anxieties? If so, how do you manage them?
