The IMS bearing issues are very rare on the 997.1.
Make sure that the engine number falls after the last of the older/smaller bearing M96 engines (69507475 and earlier), and thus this engine has a more robust but also non-serviceable bearing. Further comfort for the next owner is, or may be, that during the prior ownership that a car saw regular oil/filter changes strictly done at never more than 5k miles. Finally, make sure you get a blackstone analysis as part of a PPI.

Have a 997.1 turbo…. I cannot recommend the last analogue Porsche enough!
Also have a friend that had a 997.1 turbo and he said that thing was amazing and bulletproof - would be the ideal pick if it was in the budget!
