Do you happen to be young and have not taken out a large loan before? Even if you have a good credit score, but have never had large loan (excluding school loans) you will get a higher interest rate due to a higher perceived risk portfolio for the lender
I had the same issue Op. I’m 23 with an 800 score but my proposed rates are higher than they should due to never having a large loan. Unfortunately you’ll probably just have to eat the extra interest. Not sure if getting a co-signer would help?
The Prime rate is now 5.5%. DCU is offering you 1% under Prime, which is a very good rate. Captive lenders are in the same range right now.
The only one I have found that is cheaper is American 1 Credit Union (american1cu.org) which is still offering 2.99% but they have a complicated application process.
Try local credit unions. For reference, my local credit union was able to do 1.99% (and they advertised this as their best rate on their website)
