New midlevel associate at a big law firm and still ramping up. I’m having a lot of trouble tackling small or discrete tasks that are either administrative in nature or otherwise because I don’t have a full plate and something to focus on. Can someone very simply explain to me the formulas for cross tab and transpose pertaining to the amount of records in the output. For example the append tool is RECORDS x RECORDS since it’s a Cartesian join.

My understanding is transpose is rows x columns but I keep hearing conflicting info
