Now he wishes to come back to India and wants to join some company here. But seems like similar opportunities are very less, say close to 3-4%. Does an MBA (US) make sense for me? Male, Indian, Age 32, Married working in tech consulting with 10 YOE. Base is $165 with steady increases and bonus is typically 15%. I eventually do want to cross the $300K threshold but I know stopping work for 2 years and getting and MBA probably won’t get me a $300K job right away. Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).

How bad is it to defer acceptance by a year, but then reapply to other preferred schools next application cycle in hopes of getting a better offer?
