what was the reasoning given? do you agree?

For the first one I don't agree it happened in two months for this one I agree and know what I did wrong

Nuking how?

Get fired twice in a row early career

Are you at firm #3 right now or looking for firm #3? I know a couple of people who ended up at a third firm by year 4 and they seem to be doing OK.

I’m a 4th year at my 3rd firm. No issues and no questions.

Do document review contract work?

Microwave bombing is similar to nuking, if you have a career you feel confident your skills are needed in then the nuke might not be as tragically disastrous as you’d assume. Go forward obviously with your career choice but to the extent you feel appropriate. I noticed a lot of reasons for not being comfortable when transitioning out of the career track I was in but during that time it was like ehh better things to do then (photographer turned private photographer set on teaching, turned lawyer into mediator—don’t give in.)

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? I’m a fifth year associate who is ready to get out of litigation (and private practice altogether). I’ve only ever done professional malpractice (legal, med mal, etc) and feel like those skills will not transfer as well if I had done transactional work. Ideally I would like to transition to something in-house. Any suggestions as to what jobs/industries I could transfer into with only litigation experience?

I’m so miserable every day is painful. I want to go tell pre-law school me it’s not worth the debt because you will hate this career and then feel trapped by the debt. Has anyone made the transition from non-profit and small firm practice to federal government, big law, in-house? I’m a special education parent attorney at a small firm and I’ve spent my legal career in the education and juvenile areas of the law working for 2 non-profits before ending up at the firm. However, I’m just exhausted, unmotivated, and and looking for a change. At this point (6.5 yrs of practice), is that type of transition even possible or am I stuck due to the practice area?
