Did anyone transition out of law and pivoted into marketing? Would love to hear your thoughts! I have a public relations degree but very limited work experiences.

Does anyone have any experience or know of someone who went from FDD to PE operations (think Cerberus COAC). Would be great to hear any insights or thoughts on the jump and transition.

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of getting into copywriting as something to soon the side but I have no experience doing it. What steps should I take (books to read, gigs to start with or pursue, etc) if I want to go from $0 and next to ) experience to $40k or so a year?

Right now I’m currently unemployed and taking a break from my fine art stuff to try to get back into tech sales, but I was looking to expand my skill set and also generate extra money at the same time.

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

Is it wrong that I’m just not into PE/VC? It seems to be the most desirable exit for most people that I work with. I got a job as a infrastructure consultant right out of college 3 years ago and later became a solutions architect at the company I am at now. I have a degree in CS and never really got the chance to use my programming skills (Java, python, Springboot framework). And suggestions on where I could get started on making this transition?

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. Does anyone know how to break a rental lease agreement if the landlord does not fix the window in the unit? I have been overworked and overwhelmed at my current job for quite a while. This is my first position out of law school, small firm with large caseload, and in my second year of practice. I often think I should look for another opportunity elsewhere but I don't know that any other firms would give me the potential for growth and experience that I am getting here. What are other 2nd year associates doing at other firms? Trying to gauge if I really am getting more opportunities here

I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? First world problems I suppose. I’m very thankful to have a job ❤️
