100% know the feeling. Everyone at the office is great. The actual practice of law, however, is not great.
I couldn’t have said it any better myself. I would love to get out
That’s exactly my gripe. It’s homework forever! I’m currently in the process of getting out.
A2 - I work at home 😬 so it’s kinda hard not to..but maybe I’m not catching what you’re putting down.
Completely agree. Could have been a post I wrote lol if asked the only things I like about my job is the pay and (most) of my colleagues. Always feel behind, when I catch up and have a chance to get ahead on tasks, I get more cases dumped on me. Eff this.
Stuff like clocking in and out, taking mandatory lunch breaks, attending bs meetings, providing reports and status updates constantly, and following policies and procedures for requesting time off, etc. is the stuff that makes me feel like I’m still a grade school. And these are the types of things a lot of the work force outside of law has to deal with.. So in that respect, I love law firm life (and hated working in house with a big company). Billing my time is a small inconvenience when I get to create my own daily schedule, wfh as needed, make appoints, take PTO/vacay without the red tape, and work independently on projects. Granted, I’m at a small, fairly laid back firm.
A1 I think you misread my comment.
