Oh Bono, see, now this is why we can’t have anything nice. That “cringe” made you a gazillionairie, put you in The Simpsons and gave your views & causes an international platform. Even in his faux humbleness he’s still so full of himself.

I have an interview super day coming up for a PE Ops role. Only got info that it will be 6-8 interviews, mostly fit. Two questions on my mind:
1) Anything I should prepare (other than knowing their business, portfolio companies, my life story)?
2) Apparently 1-2 convos are with folks on the deal team. Should I need to brush up on my LBO and DCF knowledge?

Anyone else struggle with this/have a solution?

My observation is that it is hard for consulting partners to land the quality public or private board roles everyone naturally targets. Despite there being a significant amount of exceptional talent that could be deployed, there is a big bias against consultants. Everyone wants “operators,” but I feel every board could also benefit from one current or former consulting partner. But sadly, that’s not the way the external world looks at things...
