Millennial here & I can’t function without them. Obviously within the right context and my role is internal, not client facing. I find my audience loosens up when I let my stuck up guard down so I use emojis and gifs pretty heavily. Mostly just via IM, sometimes smilies in emails.
Depends, I apply emoji’s as softeners to my email however professionally.
Example, if I need to designate request back to back, I mentally perceive the receiver might be exhausted or less motivated so I end it with an emoji smiling 😊 and a thank you 🙏🏾 that way it feels appreciated.
Also when someone does a fantastic job, I use a thumbs up 👍🏾 and clap 👏🏿. It gives visuals illustrations of moods and I personally don’t see anything wrong with it.
If it’s to a group or team am comfortable with, I utilize it. If it’s an unfamiliar setting, I don’t.

I think so, but I only use them with people I’m friends with at work.
I think so, but I'm a bit of a fuddy-duddy. I also think emails should follow all rules of grammar and spelling. I'm a real psycho, I guess.

I think it depends on who is sending and the context. For example within our team we use them as well as gifs but for formal emails to a larger audience I would never use them
It depends on the company and your team. I’m at a financial service company, my team ranges
all the way from boomer to gen Z we all use emojis. Not often but sometimes. Also depends on the relationship in my personal experience.
I guess that depends on what emojis you are using OP. If you are using the middle finger emoji then yes it is probably unprofesional. But other than that I really don't think they are.
Not for close colleagues, but I wouldn't include them in the more professional emails sent out.
