I worked at a grocery chain that was acquired by Kroger around a decade ago. Everyone was nervous about the takeover, but things ended up being pretty good all in all, so I've always held Kroger in decent regard as an employer. That was years ago, though, so I'm not sure if it still holds true.

If you can find something in sales or merchandising.. they pay decent with some great benefits. I work as a retail merchandiser and the benefits, work/life balance, plus pay isn’t so bad.

This is going to sound crazy and I get a lot of pushback when I say this, but I’m going to go to Walmart. Again, I know that’s crazy because they’ve had to be sued into being this good however you get decent brakes and cost-of-living raises. I’ve never had that anywhere else I’ve worked.

I miss music. Like actual bands with instruments and vocal ability. Feels like the music industry is so hollowed out that multi-member instrumental bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and even Metallica are no longer able to take root.

There are a few talented individual singers (Adele) a lot of awful mumble rappers, but no actual bands that will stand the test of time. Before I get called a Boomer, the problems with the music industry for new artists are well documented.
