Rising Star
Is your firm/group free market or central staffing? Also, are your peers in your class year also slow or is it just you?
Depends on the size of the firm. It takes time to get ramped up. Find a partner you trust and discuss with them directly and just ask what they think. Don’t fret.
It depends. At my first firm it was an everyday hassle begging for work because partners didn’t want to teach. At my current firm, there’s no shortage of work and my team has an open door policy. If it’s a constant battle to find work, I’d go elsewhere.
If you don’t have a talent or PD person doing the staffing, it’s not unusual. It can be hard to get clients to pay for first years and to get first years integrated into ongoing work. Plus, some PGs are slow right now. Keep asking, track who you ask as well as any feedback, and stay enthusiastic!
