The most basic routine - and this is gender neutral - is some sort of facial scrub soap, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Then drink lots of water.
I use neutrogena for facial scrub, any lotion works for your body skin, and cerave for a combo face moisturizer and sunscreen.
Drinking water is also wildly important, people routinely underrate that or think drinking coffee counts as hydration lol
I would stick with “clean beauty” products, which are safer and less toxic than not clean brands. Maybe pop into a Sephora and tell them you’re looking for a clean skincare routine specific to your skin type. They do free consultations!

I second visiting a Sephora or Ulta in the skincare section so they may analyze your skin in person. If you suffer from acne or severe skin issues definitely visit a dermatologist. If you have any product questions ask away here!

Re: Accenture 1’s advice on a scrub — be careful with the scrub you choose. Avoid harsh scrubs with stone fruit pits/nut shells like St. Ives Apricot Scrub, because the sharp edges of the abrasives can easily scratch your face. These little wounds can increase your chances of developing a skin infection and increase redness.
Your cleanser should be a mild, non-drying and non-irritating formula, and any physical scrubbing should be a separate product that’s used as needed.
