Currently exiting after one year post-MBA. Any tips for someone with 5 YOE who wants to use the consulting experience to advance as far as possible? Target is tech, either big or startup.

Managed out?

I hate what these consulting firms have been doing. I hear the same story across the firms.

T3 firm reached out re: direct admit to the partnership with some runway to grow the practice. I am at a firm now where there aren’t bright line metrics to make PPMD, but think I could make it in 2-5 years. This would be a step down in brand, but might be better from a WLB and getting to start at partner. Haven’t had firm comp talks yet but range was well north of 50% increase in cash comp from current (plus LT equity, draws, etc). Anyone take $ over brand? what are some traps to watch for?

Hi Folks,

I have about three of experience as incident manager in operations, and I wish to move into devops, and i technically trying to upskilling me on the same.

I personally don't have a mentor to discuss this topic, so I like to know from you the below.

Right now, I have a decent offer for the role of Major Incident Manager, but how much CTC can be demanded as I am moving from non tech to techincal role.

Silly question but, do devops engineer required to work in rotational shifts?.

I’m one of the top performers in the company and got invited to the company’s emerging leadership program. Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. Is it better to jump firms/has anyone done this?

I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

I’m interviewing for a start up and the role sounds interesting. Usually for the “test” part of the interview I’ve had to analyze data. This company wants me to develop a growth strategy that outlines key initiatives for growth, different opportunities, experiments I’d run, KPIs, and working cross-functionally.

Is this a lot for an interview?

I’m a little afraid of doing all this work to then just have them take my ideas and not hire me.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.
