Ever hear the saying, "if you have a problem and call the police, now you have two problems?"

Clearly this guy has mental issues and needed medical intervention. Instead, the cops, who are not trained to deescalate a situation like this, made it worse.

"Now the Queens District Attorney’s Office is seeking to pursue criminal charges against Chakraborty, who allegedly has schizophrenia. However, the family is protesting these charges, saying they had requested EMS to assist in the medical emergency. They claimed the officers only escalated the situation.

"Rather than de-escalate the situation, the officer instead further escalated by drawing his gun and yelling orders at Jabez," the family wrote. "Within a minute of NYPD’s arrival, Jabez was shot multiple times and almost killed, while he was calmly eating food just minutes earlier."

If any of you has had a family member with mental issues, you recognize what happened here immediately. The impulse to just throw the book at him is an unfortunate lack of understanding.

This is wild, sad he had to be shot but he was clearly an imminent threat to the officers. Whether it is criminal prosecution or being forcibly institutionalized, violent people with mental health issues should not be free to terrorize people.

This is why Jordan Neely isn’t alive today…

I put a lot of efforts making friends and always try to be with my friends whenever they need. But, I didn’t always get invited to the party while guys they complained a lot and they hate…those guys are often invited. Maybe attraction is a part of problem in making friendship? Because the guy I hang out have big preference with certain race and he wants to be friend with them more than me. And it seems to insult me sometimes…but let’s be positive… maybe culture, language and other? I’m sad tho.

Interesting. Let’s see if the uptick In cases continues to drive an uptick in hospitalizations and then in fatalities. Depends on how many of the cases are incidental or in very young people not prone to severe cases. But either way, look at the hospital capacity utilization figures! This is the untold story. Were we bending the curve to avoid unnecessary deaths due to overcrowded hospitals, or were we bending the curve to buy time for treatments and vaccine, or just to slow fatalities?
