As a practicng Catholic and a former Catholic school teacher, don't sweat the details of Roman Catholic dogma. One doesn't have to agree to entire concepts to present them. I doubt that you will be teaching actual Catholicism . A priest will handle that anyway.
Fear is never a basis for Catholic teaching. We are talking about the same God in Protestant religions, after all! The actual mass is truly pleasant and peaceful. There is no radical ideology embedded within Catholicism that are based on fear.

I agree with most of what you said except the fact that you “don’t have to agree to entire concepts”. This is exactly how religions split away and created their own versions of the faith…

Absolutely correct, totally agree.
After Vatican ll, in the late 60s, l believe, my mother basically 'quit' the Church. As I was a young child, it was never discussed. Think she just was appalled by some of the new doctrine. She stopped attending mass.
Personally, for myself, I certainly 'take what l need and leave the rest!' I totally disagree with several 'policies.'
But it's still stays in my Comfort Zone & l enjoy the Mass.
That's just what works for me.
