When are the layoffs going to start? Anybody care to wager a bet?

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?

Firm laid off a good amount of people today. Would you bring up the topic that you’re open to a pay reduction (say 20% while not on a client full time) is a good move prior to them mentioning anything about your role or would you wait..?

Also, assuming you like the firm/job, see yourself there for the next 2-4 years, and 20% would suck, but not too big of hit if had to last through 2020 only.

I feel like I havent been performing to my best potential at work and I know it’s starting to show and my coworkers can probably recognize it. My boss just gave me some feedback and I am having a hard time not going down the rabbit hole of negative self talk. Any feedback on receiving constructive feedback from team ? How do you not feel insecure about your job ? I feel like I am going to get fired if I keep this up but maybe it’s a good thing I’ve recognized it now before it’s too late ?!

Was laid off in Sept. Unfortunately we will be seeing many more coming. It's what happens in a recession. Unfortunately I now also have my age against me. Not in a mentally good place at the moment.

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. Has anyone else felt this way? How did handle it? Is there a different career path I can take or am I destined to sell insurance forever?

I had an interview last week for a resource manager role at PWC, I have now been invited for an interview with another manager and partner. Ive googled the process and found conflicting advice on how I should prepare. Some forums advise that you should prepare with competency examples and some state its more like a conversation at this point and the partner wants to meet you and assess soft skills. Does anyone here have any advice they can provide?

What are the levels/career trajectory at PWC?

I was promoted to manager in Jan but received an offer with a 35% salary increase and much cheaper health insurance outside the firm. I am 85% sure I’ll take the offer, but wanted to see if anyone could think of acting I may be missing out on by leaving? FYI my inflation increase was larger than my promotion increase and my student loan payments also were stopped since I’m no longer an SA. I think what is holding me back is my guilt for my immediate team but just want to check.
