As a teacher, The work itself isn’t hard and that’s not what’s weighing on me. It’s the people I work with. Because of the union structure, promotions happen based on time served rather than performance, which I understand is part, IIf this were a private company, I would’ve let some of them go based on their lack of ability. Overall, there’s little accountability, and it’s created a toxic culture. Advice on dealing with this?

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that?
