Do you believe influencers have just as many efficient marketing skills as someone in the field?

Yes and no.

They understand what their followers respond to and know that better than any company would. Also, because they don’t necessarily answer to anyone, they can publish whatever in their preferred tone and style. It’ll work for them but not necessarily a wide-ranging set of people.

Convos I’ve had with several influencers when you get into the weeds, sometimes that’s where their general lack of understanding is shown. Just my personal experience.

I've noticed that influencers, especially those on platforms like Twitch or Youtube, tend to have remarkably loyal communities. There's definitely some competitive advantage provided by the fact that the community can connect on a deeper level with a person than they can with a company

I believe they understand how to market to what's popular now and current trends, and there's great value in being able to do that. But, I think their issue is sustainability, understanding how to forecast not only influencer but business trends, and lacking foundational support. That's the value in a marketing team.

Yes, I believe that influencers have just as many marketing skills as someone in the field. They are able to connect with their audience and build relationships that create trust. This trust helps them to promote products and services in an effective and credible way.

No, I do not believe that influencers have just as many efficient marketing skills as someone in the field. In fact, I believe that influencers often rely on their following to do the majority of the work for them, which is not as efficient or successful as someone who has taken the time to learn the skills themselves.

Influencers know how to create and execute a marketing campaign that resonates with their audience. Plus, they have a large following that can help promote their brand or product. When you have millions of people consuming your content daily, you can sell anything.

I think influencers are playing a slightly different game when it comes to marketing. Their biggest asset is probably being able to create a tight community that rallies around them and trusts them almost on a personal level

No.

There is no denying that they have many highly transferable skills. However, they specialize in a niche type of community growth. They would have to add to their knowledge significantly to understand how growing other types of businesses work.

I have a recurring thought that really brings me down and I can’t seem to get past it.
Some days I feel I am pretty good at what I do (not a leadership role) but then I see leaders in my own organization that are great at what they do and I don’t believe that I could ever get to their level of competence. Then I think of all the people my age who are appear to be doing those things and wonder we what’s wrong with me.
Have any of you felt this and how have you gotten past it?
