I don't think it's seen as a weakness at all. I do think, however, it needs to be approached appropriately. It only comes off as a weakness when you "don't know what you don't know." When you are aware that you don't know something and are making every effort to learn it, that's growth.

Totally agree. I’ve actually started to admire people more when they ask good questions. It takes confidence to say you don’t know something and still stay engaged.
Stigma for certain groups. Some would rather make it all up than ask for help or admit they don’t know something. Ends up costing them and others more time, money, but not the ‘embarrassment’ of saying, “I don’t know.”
