I’m relocating in two weeks, which requires flying with my cat. I’ve never flown with a pet in-cabin before. (U.S. domestic flight) I already have a vet appointment booked for the vet certificate. Anything else I should make sure to do before my trip? Any tips from those who have flown with a pet before ?

You may have to take her out of the carrier when getting past security. Recommend a leash in case she makes a dash for it

Congratulations on relocation! Check check check again with airline and print everything out at least two copies. Call the airline. Check website. Call airline again. Which one are you flying with?

We fly with our dog all the time on United, and the rules are not evenly enforced. Have the certificates, for sure. Book in advance, as there are limits on the number of pets per flight. D1’s comment about the ‘dash’ is an important point. That leads me to ask how much time has your cat spent in a carrier before?

United requires that the pet beds to be able to turn completed around in the carrier. Mine can and despite they have never checked, it seems logical for your cat’s comfort.
