I’m a first year associate in an area of practice I really like. People at my firm are nice, but I’m not challenged. I’m thinking of finding new opportunities since my salary is below market, firm policies are unclear and I’m not challenged. Any advice on finding new positions while I’m so junior?

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). I already have 1099 from similar company this year and am leaning towards 1099, but I don’t want to be difficult. I do take home office deduction and they are not supplying any equipment. Do bank managers/loan officers at local branches have any sway in approving loans? I live in a small Midwest town would it be better to go to my local bank and see if people I know there can get a better rate etc on an auto loan?
