I have zero issues with the announcements themselves, but the “with a score high enough…” verbiage annoys me greatly every time.
Agreed. “I passed the bar!” Is enough. The rest of it just seems like an unnecessary gunner brag (coming from someone who has “a score high enough…). Like no one cares about that unless you’re going to be admitted in every jurisdiction
I’m honored and amazed and excited and pleased to announce that I based the bar exam with a score. High enough to practice in any jurisdiction in the United States
I just saw this post today. Lmao. I couldn’t believe it.
I feel old, because when I took the bar the UBE didn’t exist and you took state specific exams. It’s kind of neat the UBE allows for portability but agree with others that the “score high enough” language irks me for some unknown reason. But always happy to see people self promote their bar passage!
I supervise interns and love seeing that they passed a year or two later.
The only thing better than passing the bar was scoring higher than my friendly nemesis
Strong disagree that the bar exam posts are not terrible on LinkedIn. Any yahoo who graduates from law school and spends any amount of time preparing should pass the bar. Post on a social platform for your friends and family if you want; achieving the minimum qualification to work in your field isn’t appropriate for a career platform.
Hard disagree. It’s directly appropriate for LinkedIn. It’s a professional achievement. Tons of people fail, depending on the state. And it signals your ability to actually be qualified for the job you went to school to do.
What does that mean? High enough to practice anywhere? Do some states let you or not let you practice with the same score?
Okay I see. I’m from Florida where we live and die here so I didn’t understand at all. Thanks y’all.
I passed the bar!
I did it a long time ago, but I wasn't on social media then.
cool
I like how some states publish THE high scorer
Yes but for some, this comes naturally. I didn’t study that much compared to my peers but scored very highly.
