It depends. I'm in the SFDC consulting practice, and generally carry a Dreamforce backpack. It gives me street cred as a technical architect. I doubt any clients will care what you carry - as long as you have the necessary skills for the job.
Internally, of course, people may judge you (primarily those below M). As long as you look professional, don't worry about the small minds. If you solve problems for your leadership, whether project or firm, you'll be respected. Case in point: I never have owned Tumi, and likely never will.
Remember: Warren Buffet drives an old beater and lives in a modest house. If he's not successful, I hope I never am.

I have a backpack from timbuk2, it's all black, water resistant, and comfortable to carry as a backpack or by the top handle when I'm wearing a suit. Honestly I'd avoid the leather bags as they are super heavy.
