HR is shifting but not disappearing. Human judgement still beats automation in messy situations.
My big concern with AI isn't that it's going to replace us. It's that it's going to eliminate so many other peoples' jobs that there will be fewer people needed to manage HR programs. I'm hoping if that does happen, it'll be long after I'm retired, dead and gone, but at the rate AI is advancing, that's not a sure bet.
Not gonna lie, I feel like HR has been an inflated field for a long time. Most companies don't need a huge team of people to do this work, and outsourcing trainings and whatnot is way more effective anyway. I don't want to wish away jobs in my field, but a lot of what we do seems redundant.
AI is not going to do what everyone thinks it will. It's merely an excuse companies are using to explain the deep cuts they're making in the name of profits. Computers are not going to replace people in HR. The companies are just okay with a lower quality experience for employees and new hires in the name of saving money. This is also why folks who are looking for a job right now are having a real hard time. Not enough people in HR to keep up with the infux of applications, no time to follow up, ghosting, etc.

It’s not completely disappearing but I know what you mean as I have similar feelings, I don’t think it will fully take off but I suppose no one really knows.
I don't really think they can take the human out of human resources Yes artificial intelligence does help but again human resource requires a human All parts can't be done by artificial intelligence so I'm pretty hopeful
